dc.description.abstract Communication is very important especially in one's work. A study was conducted in a school that is located in Beirut to find out the importance of communication and what is needed to have effective communication. It was conducted to find the effects of effective communication on teachers ' work. Participants were twelve teachers chosen from all departments, head of departments and the principal of the school. Interviews and observations were used to collect data Results showed that the school is trying to apply effective communication as the administration and teachers believe in, but there are gaps in sending messages; messages are not clearly received. It was found that effective communication is understanding, sharing, trusting, working as a team, and receiving feedback. Moreover, results showed that effective communication could affect teachers' work and improvement. Therefore, in the future, more research should be conducted to find more about the behaviors and characteristics of effective communication. en_US
