dc.description.abstract |
Creating and implementing after school programs and support services for children who come from low socio-economic backgrounds is quite complex and needs careful planning. This study explores the importance of creating after-school programs and support services to cater for children who live in underprivileged areas in Lebanon. The researcher sheds light on the subject by starting with a brief introduction regarding extracurricular activities and their importance to children. She, then, draws on the literature available on the topic and reviews published work regarding extracurricular activities and portable libraries, and their influence on students' academic achievement and engagement in school. Next, the researcher outlines the methodology used in this paper along with the research context and participants. Finally and based on several interviews with different people concerned in athletics and libraries, the investigator draws her own conclusion and designs her own complete educational kit. |
