Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to perceive the attitudes of Lebanese managers pertaining to the change in technology in the telephone sector. There has been an unrevealed concern regarding the efficiency and reliability of Lebanon's telephone network's new technology that prepares the network to meet expected future demand with great resolution, especially at a time when the public sector is suffering tremendously from inefficient administrative personnel systems, deteriorating performance. Chapter I presents some features regarding telephone sector's background, and its performance before, during, and after the destructive civil war. Chapter II is divided into two parts. The first one gives an overview about resistance to change in technology, its nature and effects, possible benefits of resistance, and building support for the change. Part two tackles the subject of the progress and advancement experienced by giant telecommunications companies around the world in the last thirty years, and the case of sector’s nature of being publicly or privately owned and operated worldwide. Chapter III discusses the procedures and methodology adopted in collecting and analyzing the data collected. The selected sample comprises MPT'S second and -third level managers. A questionnaire has been distributed and the data was analyzed by using the SPSS statistical package. Chapter IV presents the findings of this study starting with characteristics of the selected sample, then the results of the reliability, and the regression analysis that are scrutinized. Hence chapter IV answer the questions posed in chapter I. Finally some recommendations are presented in chapter V in compliance with the findings of this study.
