Abstract:
The majority of foregut subepithelial lesions (SEL) are discovered incidentally during endoscopy or cross-sectional imaging. Consensus guidelines recommend performing EUS to further characterize and sample SELs. For suspected gastrointestinal stromal cell tumors (GISTs), size is a criterion to determine if surveillance is recommended over surgery.
