Abstract:
Subepithelial lesions (SEL) found at EGD are a common indication for EUS. Many lesions are small and asymptomatic, but national guidelines encourage EUS to characterize and sample these lesions. We established a prospective database of subepithelial lesions (ProGIST) at 2 large referral centers, to determine the yield of EUS and FNA in this setting and to compare EGD and EUS estimates of size.
