Abstract:
The world's increasing globalization requires more interaction among people from diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds than ever before. This is due to the fact that a homogeneous workforce is not likely to come up with creative solutions to the problems faced by a national and world market that is characterized by individuals from many races, nationalities, and religions. The collective knowledge of any group is enhanced by including people with different experiences and backgrounds. Firms that want to generate ideas need to hire employees from diverse backgrounds. For this reason, profit and non-profit organizations need diversity to become more creative and more open to change. Maximizing and capitalizing on workplace diversity has become an important issue for management today. This article will discuss the benefits, challenges, attributes and steps needed to promote diversity in the workplace.
