dc.description.abstract This research aims to investigate whether a relationship exists between Core-self Evaluation and Employee Engagement. Employee engagement is a new notion in the work place environment that has only recently started to attract the attention of many scholars and researchers. Due to its significance in improving work performance and profitability, much interest has been given to understanding it as well as identifying its possible predictors. Core-self Evaluation is a higher order trait constituted from four personality traits: Locus of Control, Self-Esteem, Generalized Self-Efficacy, and Neuroticism. Earlier research has identified a relationship between each of the personality traits that constitute Core-self Evaluation and Employee Engagement. However, this study aims to verify the relationship between Core-self Evaluation as a whole and Employee Engagement. A total of 102 individuals employed in medium-sized organizations in the private sector in Lebanon participated in the study. Results showed a positive correlation between Core-self Evaluation and Employee Engagement, therefore supporting the idea of Core-self Evaluation as being a predictor of Employee Engagement. en_US
