Color Chat: color your conversations, color your life! public web chat application

Abstract

My project is a simple web based application using html structure, css design and JavaScript code for front end as for the backend I used php. Implemented 3 database tables: signup, configurations and messages. As for the web application, it starts with sign up page with filling own identity like a usual signup page followed with login page to confirm the sign up information and allow access to the users. The users will then have to put the configurations informations such as up address,port number they want to talk on and RSA bits for key generations saved in configurations database as well as generating plus and private keys saved in the documents folder. Then the user will be redirected to main page of the app the message sending it is a public channel for all ones who succeeded in the previous processes where it won’t show their names but their IP and port number, display their messages next to it and finally the details button when pressed shows the public key of other individuals for encryption use purposes for the user using the user own private key from documents folder and the public key of the user viewed from details button, encryption works securely. After finishing talking the users can finally logout if they want to.
