Climate change is a growing concern for countries around the world, and the use of carbon credits has emerged as a potential solution to mitigate the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions. This thesis provides an overview of the carbon market, introducing the concept of carbon credits, their legal nature and implications, in addition to the challenges they are likely to face and impose on the markets. Moreover, the study will shed light on the global efforts made by the world to combat climate change, with a specific focus on the MENA region, and the role of carbon credits in supporting these efforts.
Additionally, this thesis analyzes the opportunities and risks associated with investing in the carbon market. It considers various ways to invest in this booming market, such as through green bonds, carbon crypto credits, and carbon ETNs and ETFs.
Overall, this thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the carbon market and its role in fighting global warming. By examining the progress made by countries in the MENA region and exploring the various investment opportunities available in this market, this research aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers and investors alike. |
