Abstract:
This capstone is a communications campaign that raises awareness on the
importance of implementing inclusive systems in Lebanon's educational system. It also suggests specific strategies schools can include in their curriculum to become inclusive. Lebanon’s current education system faces physical, sociocultural, and financial difficulties that frequently result in a degraded educational experience for children with disabilities. Through data gathering techniques such as surveys and interviews, research on this topic was done to understand the system in the country, the status of
disabled children in Lebanon, as well as parent perspective on the idea of inclusiveness. To implement the campaign, a social media account was created to help shine a light on the idea of inclusive systems and reach
wide audiences such as parents, teachers, and doctors. A proposal detailing an inclusive curriculum was also sent to Al Makassed Organization to help them begin implementing the idea of an inclusive system.
