Attracting the right people is not the only challenge, however, the main challenge is to find a way to engage and retain talented employees. This study aims to examine the relationship between training, employee engagement and employee retention. The main aim is investigating the role of training as a moderator in the relationship of employee engagement and employee retention. Specifically, how training can enhance employee engagement and retention at the workplace. To add to prior literature and to fill gaps as recommended, this study also aims to assess whether gender of employees can affect the results of training as a moderator to employee engagement and retention. Besides, to the best of the author’s knowledge, this topic has not been fully investigated previously. A total of 558 questionnaires were collected and analyzed using SPSS. Findings indicate that training has a positive effect on each variable independently, however, training marginally moderates the relationship between employee engagement and employee retention. Finally, this paper concludes with some limitations and suggestions for future studies on this topic. |
