dc.description.abstract Computer related crimes are highly emerging in the crime scene as human beings are relying vastly on computers in terms of communication, information gathering, data storage and much more. Hence, many countries worldwide exert an effort to merge cyber law and digital forensics with their law enforcements as an attempt to achieve justice and perceive a holistic view before making a judgement. Using a qualitative and a quantitative method approach, this paper will examine the effectiveness of solving cybercrime cases within the absence of a cybersecurity law and digital forensics procedures. It highlights the strengths and weaknesses in the current cybercrime implemented infrastructure, explores the impact of the absence of cyber law on the cybercrime investigations in Lebanon, and studies how the latter is affecting the Lebanese economy. Further, the paper develops three models; the first model is for cybercrime and a digital forensic investigation which can be used for future research, the second is a conceptual model that highlights on major factors that affect the loss of digital evidence and misjudgment on cybercrime cases. The third model tests the effect of the absence of (and the significance of adding) cyber laws and digital forensic procedures on the Lebanese economy and organizations. en_US
