Abstract:
The Arab Institute for Women (AiW) is organizing a panel discussion of a report on child marriage in emergency contexts.
The executive summary is the product of a prevalence study done in South Lebanon, led by AiW.
The report is part of a multi-country study in Lebanon, Ethiopia, and Kachin State, Myanmar to assess the prevalence of child, early, and forced marriage in fragile and humanitarian contexts and to evaluate the effectiveness of child marriage interventions and programming.
The program was launched by the Women’s Refugee Commission in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, International Medical Corps, International Rescue Committee (IRC), Kachin Development Group, and AiW.
The overall study is supported by Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC), a donor consortium based in the United Kingdom.
